These services are free, and our graduates can use them at any time during or after their course.
Although we are not a job placement agency, we believe that our job information and guidance services are significantly better than those offered by any other TEFL training center in Canada or the USA
Over the past five years, our graduates have taught in more than 50 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe.
JOB GUIDANCE AND ADVICE
St Giles International is unique in providing program participants and graduates with a wealth of professional information and advice as part of the CELTA course. This information is available at any time during or after the course.PERSONALIZED ADVICE
- Every course includes job guidance seminars which give practical, informed advice on how and where to find TESOL jobs, how to write a TESOL resume, typical jobs and conditions of work, and how to evaluate job offers and contracts.
- Each program participant is given personalized jobs counseling by the Director of Teacher Training, as well as contact details of St Giles International graduates now working overseas and other relevant professional contacts. She will also advise graduates on all job offers which they receive during or after their course.
- Each course includes cultural briefing workshops on a range of cross-cultural issues.
- Each course participant receives materials and resources to help with job searches and applications.
Our Director of Teacher Training and our trainers personally advise each course participant on how to undertake his/her job search. They will help each person to produce an appropriate TEFL resume. They will also advise graduates on all job offers which they receive during or after their course.COMPUTER ACCESS
All program participants have access to computers and the Internet during their training course.CULTURAL BRIEFING
Each course includes informative workshops on a range of cross-cultural issues, such as how to deal with culture shock. In addition, participants have access to useful cultural briefing notes on over 100 countries.TEFL JOB FILES
St. Giles and English International have compiled very extensive TEFL job files, which are regularly updated. These files contain an enormous amount of valuable job search information and materials which include:
- articles on TEFL job markets overseas
- listings of over 3000 TEFL employers
- letters from English International and St. Giles graduates teaching overseas
- examples of job offers and contracts
- current advertisements for TEFL jobs.
